COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus): Information and updates. Read more

We’re on a mission to help seniors in the Gold Coast with our new “Friendly Bench” program, tackling loneliness head-on for one of Australia’s most vulnerable groups.

The Friendly Bench, located at Broadbeach Seniors Garden, is one way of bringing people together and encouraging them to connect over a conversation.

And while the bench is available for people to meet at any time, we’ve set up a social group for seniors to connect over a cup of tea and a conversation every Wednesday from 9:30am to 11:30am.

The program is available via the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). In addition to the friendly bench activities, CHSP clients will have the opportunity to join Feros Care social groups at Coolangatta’s Coffee Club, Robina Library and the Broadwater Parklands.

This area of the Gold Coast has one of the largest proportions of lone person households in the country, with many residents over the age of 65. We look forward to making a difference in people’s lives in a bid to tackle loneliness, and provide refuge for those who may be isolated.

If you are interested in joining our ‘Friendly Bench’ social group or another program, please contact Feros Care on 1300 763 583 to check your eligibility!
